NAS Storage Overview
Network Attached Storage (NAS) is basic file storage offering, it allows access from within the Softlayer environment via CIFS or FTP with both Parallels Plesk Panel and cPanel&WHM.
- Intended for backups or less frequently accessed files, not as a production file server
- Many to one: many servers can store files on NAS
- Good where long retention policies are needed for files.
The points above should be highlighting to you that this is not a high performance, high feature set offering, it is good as a NAS if you use it as a NAS.
